What are the recommendations for stone installation?
Rainscreen and bug screen are installed as per local building codes. Then, we install cement board, metal lath and a mortar scratch coat. Type S mortar is used for stone installations.
How long does a fireplace install using stone take?
A few factors decide this. What stone are you wanting? How large is your fireplace? Is the fireplace close to the outside where we set our drills and saws up? It can range from two days to a week, but the larger the fireplace, the more time consuming it is going to be!
How long does a tiled backsplash take?
Who doesn't want to have a beautiful new backsplash? A new backsplash can update the look of any kitchen. Installation time usually takes around 3 days from the time we turn up to the time we leave. But if old tile needs to be removed, damage to the wall can occur — which will result in extra labour and material costs.
How long does a tiled shower take?
From installing the waterproofing all around the shower to grouting the tile up, it can take 4-5 days of work. Adding niches, curbs, shelves and benches to a shower project also adds labour and increases the cost of materials.
What can I do to help in the process of having your backsplash and/or bathroom tiled??
You can help expedite the process by having your tile chosen and ordered, having a grout colour chosen, and if you need metal trim, having a suitable colour and style chosen as well. We can provide many samples of all of these to help in your decisions!
